ESPN reports the NHL and its Players Association have cleared their financial hurdles and are moving forward with planning talks for the upcoming season. The sides are aiming for a January 13th start date with either a 52 or 56 game regular season schedule. The plan must be approved by both the NHL’s Board of Governors and the NHLPA’s executive board.
