A vehicle pursuit Wednesday night in Todd County ended with the arrest of the driver on multiple charges.
Todd County Sheriff’s Deputies Jonathan Knight and Mitch Frazier attempted to stop 48-year old Joseph “Chicago Joe” Goodin for moving violations on Highland Lick Road at Shemwell Road about 9 p.m.
An arrest citation says Goodin drove on the wrong side of the road and did not stop until after he had crossed KY 181 and made it to the intersection with Allegre Road.
He then exited the pickup and was arrested without further incident, telling deputies he didn’t stop because he was wanted on a warrant out of Texas. He said his passenger didn’t have anything to do with the pursuit and claimed ownership of all drug items inside the truck—which included marijuana, a large amount of methamphetamine and a large machete knife.
Goodin was charged with fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and several other counts.
