Community mourns loss of longtime educator Clyde Wallace

Longtime local educator and former Christian County School System Assistant Superintendent Clyde Wallace died Wednesday following a battle with COVID-19.

An online journal maintained by his son, Dr. Taylor Wallace, says Clyde Wallace tested positive on November 16 and was admitted to Jennie Stuart Medical Center three days later when his condition worsened.

Dr. Wallace was able to read notes of love and appreciation written by friends and colleagues to his father before he passed after being removed from the ventilator on Wednesday.

One post on the site came from Wendy Knuckles, who said “Wallace was one of the best teachers to ever grace Christian County. He was honest and compassionate as well as driven and encouraging to his students.”

Clyde Wallace served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in the Christian County School System prior to his retirement. He was 71-years old.
