Covid-19 has forced Madison Southern out of the Class 5A Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl, allowing Covington Catholic to advance to the semifinal round next week. Covington Catholic meets the winner of Southwestern-Frederick Douglass who play Friday night.
The KHSAA announced Tuesday the championship games in the Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl will be played December 18th and 19th at Kroger Field in Lexington. Games on the 18th have the Class A Championship at 10 am Hopkinsville time followed by the 2A Championship at 2 pm and the 4A Championship at 6 pm.
On Saturday the 19th, the 3A Championship plays at 10 am Central followed at 2 pm by the Class 5A final and the Class 6A final at 6 pm.
