Registration is underway for the Art Strong academy for middle and high school students in Todd County.
Organizer Zavier Ortiz says Art Strong begins January 14 and meets each Thursday from 3:30 until 6 p.m. and it will also serve as a fundraiser for renovations to the Historic Green River Academy in Elkton.
Samantha Hightower will be the teacher and she’ll lead students through various types of art, according to Ortiz.
United Southern Bank and Elkton Baptist Church are the primary sponsors and USB has donated use of its community room, which is large enough to safely host the classes and maintain appropriate distance during the pandemic.
The early bird registration fee through Friday is $200 and $250 after that deadline.
