Man sought on warrants after allegedly ramming Clarksville police cruiser

Clarksville police are looking for a man sought for aggravated assault after he allegedly rammed an officer’s cruiser to evade arrest Saturday.

An officer was on routine patrol about 9:30 a.m. Saturday when he saw 45-year old Donald Ray Ennis getting in a vehicle in front of a home in the 1000 block of Swift Drive.

The officer knew Ennis to be wanted on a warrant and pulled his patrol car behind the suspect’s vehicle to make contact with him. Police say as the officer exited his vehicle, Ennis put his car in reverse, jumped the curb and then rammed the front of the officer’s cruiser as he got away.

The officer was not injured, but Ennis is now sought on multiple warrants.

Anyone knowing his whereabouts should call Clarksville Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS.
