Robertson Co. SO charges man with attempted murder in shooting

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a double-shooting incident that happened on Thanksgiving that sent a woman and her daughter to the hospital.

According to a news release, the victims are a 46-year old woman and her daughter, a 15-year old.  Deputies responded to a residence on Boyd Holland Road in Springfield, Tennessee on Thanksgiving for reports of a shooting and discovered the victims inside, along with the suspect, 38-year old Robert Mitchell, who reportedly surrendered to deputies at the scene.

The mother was taken to a local hospital for the life-threatening injury of a gunshot wound to the head and is listed in critical condition, while the teen was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the wrist.

Investigation determined that the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute between the older victim and Mitchell.  Mitchell was arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder and aggravated assault.
