Although many things have been cancelled this year due to COVID-19, the annual Hopkinsville-Christian County Turkey Trot will still go on, only in a virtual format.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman and Coordinator Toby Hudson appeared on WHOP Monday morning and says that they’re encouraging people to participate in the race virtually at their own pace and locations. Brockman says race shirts are ready for pickup at the Thomas Street Recreation Center.
Hudson says they will post information about the routes that can be run virtually online and via signs along with Greenway System
Brockman says there could be people to go out Thanksgiving morning, but Parks and Recreation won’t be there due to COVID-19 regulations—so he urges those people to have fun but keep to those well-known guidelines.
He says there’s a final walk-through of the expansion happening this week, and he believes the new walking bridge and the new section of trail will be open for people to enjoy on the holiday weekend.
