Kentucky has second-highest day for new COVID cases

Kentucky had its second-highest one-day total of new COVID-19 cases Sunday at 3,711.

Governor Andy Beshear noted Kentucky is still seeing exponential growth that threatens the state’s healthcare infrastructure.

The governor also announced 21 more deaths, bringing the total to 1,783.

He thanked individuals and businesses who have complied with orders to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.

Tennessee reported 4,355 new cases and nine more deaths Saturday. The positivity rate in Tennessee is now at 15.31 percent and 4,211 Tennesseans have died.
