Comer hopes next military spending plan includes pay raises

Congressman James Comer has been appointed to the National Defense Authorization Act Conference Committee and wants the next defense spending plan to include pay raises for the men and women of the military.

He also wants funding to remain in place for continued upgrades to housing on Fort Campbell.

Comer is joined on the committee by Congressman Mark Green of Tennessee, who represents the south side of Fort Campbell, which should benefit the local post.

The Republican congressman no longer believes there will be another COVID relief bill this year, instead anticipating something to be passed early next year.

Comer is hopeful for an effective vaccine to be widely available to the public in the first quarter of 2021 and believes healthcare workers and the most vulnerable of the population will get it first.
