A shooting Monday night in Oak Grove put a woman in the hospital and a Clarksville man in jail for felony assault.
Kentucky State Police investigated and determined 22-year old Angela Perez of Clarksville and her significant other were at the Hi Road convenience store when 31-year old Evan Adams of Clarksville also pulled into the parking lot.
Adams and Perez had previously been in an altercation and another argument ensued when Adams confronted Perez again at her vehicle.
Perez attempted to flee the scene and that’s when Adams allegedly pulled a handgun and fired into the vehicle, striking Perez in the abdomen.
Perez left and was later taken by ambulance to Tennova Health Hospital in Clarksville with non-life-threatening injuries.
Adams was arrested at the scene of the shooting and charged with first-degree assault. He was also served with an unrelated warrant for failing to appear in court.
