Judge Atkins announces he has coronavirus, will hold court virtually from home

Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins has announced he’s tested positive for COVID-19.

He appeared for his Monday morning docket via Zoom from his home and made the announcement.

Judge Atkins says he will continue to hold court electronically from home as much as possible and anyone scheduled to appear in court should plan on maintaining that appointment.

The judge postponed trials through at least the first week of December due to his isolation period and due to Christian County being red on the state incidence rate map.

The Christian County Grand Jury will continue meeting for as long as it can be done safely.
