The Christian County Public School System has announced the launch of its new workforce initiative Fusion in a partnership with the Christian County Chamber of Commerce and the Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council.
Officials say fusion will educate and train students for a career while creating a sustainable workforce for Hopkinsville and Christian County.
Through Fusion, the school system and area businesses and industry will merge resources to educate and train students through cooperative education placements and registered apprenticeships.
Student Transition Coordinator Sandra Hancock is quoted in a news release as saying, “The cooperative partnership through Fusion will have a positive impact on our businesses and community for years to come. This program is the beginning of our community ‘growing its own’ student talent pipeline.”
Businesses interested in developing an apprenticeship or a cooperative education opportunity for students should call Sandra Hancock at 270-887-7000.
