The Trigg County Chamber of Commerce has announced they will cancel the annual Christmas parade due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a news release from Chamber President Ashley Johnson, the decision was not made lightly and was a huge disappointment to the chamber. Differing options were discussed, but were determined to not be feasible for a parade of that size. Trigg County is now ‘red’ on the state incidence rate map, with Johnson saying the health and safety of the citizens is of the utmost importance at all times.
Donations for the Toys for Tots program, which is typically funded by parade entry fees, can be mailed to the Trigg County Chamber.
Johnson says, “I entrust that once this is all over, Trigg County will have a huge cerebration and a parade of some sort! The Chamber does encourage each of you, from the safety of your vehicle, to visit the Cadiz Park during the Christmas season.”
