Suspect in Trigg Co. murder case arraigned

The man charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 25-year old Cameron Phillips was arraigned in Trigg Circuit Court Thursday.

Montie Streeval of Cadiz appeared with defense attorney Jason Pfeil, who entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.  Judge C.A. Woody Woodall accepted that plea and told Streeval he will review a bond motion before he returns for a pretrial hearing on January 13.

Phillips’ body was found August 6 in a wood line near Old Rocky Point Road. Kentucky State Police Detective David Dick testified during a preliminary hearing recently and says investigation determined Phillips died from a single gunshot wound to the head.  Streeval allegedly admitted to driving Phillips to Trigg County for a drug deal.

Detective Dick says Streeval has neither admitted nor denied killing Phillips. Streeval is charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
