Madisonville coach Jay Burgett indicated in a social media post last night the Maroons will not compete in the upcoming Class 4-A playoffs. Burgett stated Hopkins County Schools met last night and stated the season for the Maroons was over. He went on to say it was a tough year, but the players were still able to compete and as a team saw where they must improve this offseason moving into the next year.
