The Hopkinsville-Christian County Imagination Library has created a video in partnership with many local figures featuring them reading to children in the community.
According to a news release, the video was created in the hope of giving the gift of reading while encouraging early literacy in children. The book, Bunny’s Book Club by Annie Silvestro was read by local literacy advocates, and is available for viewing on the library’s website. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a free book program for children birth to 5 years of age.
Executive Director Deanna Sova says, “We want our youth to learn that regardless of their career choice, reading and comprehension is fundamental in their success and the Public Library continues to play an important role in the education of our community.”
Fundraising events have been limited due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but donors are encouraged to give the gift of reading throughout the holiday season, so for information on how to donate or register a child, call 270-885-4262.
