Todd County Central High School hosted its annual Veterans Day Ceremony, but it came Wednesday morning in a virtual format due to the pandemic.
The gymnasium would normally be packed with veterans of the Armed Forces who live in Todd County and students, faculty and staff to cheer them, but that wasn’t possible this year.
Principal Deatrik Kinney says the ceremony has always been an occasion to simply say ‘thank you’ to those who have defended freedom.
Student Madison Gilliland recited The Missing Soldier Table, remembering those who have been prisoners of war or missing in action.
Kinney says the men and women of the American military have been known for generations as liberators across the world.
The school still provided a drive-thru breakfast for Todd County veterans Wednesday morning.
