Seattle Mariners center fielder Kyle Lewis is the American League Rookie of the Year. The 25-year-old was a unanimous selection, beating out Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert and Houston Astros reliever Christian Javier. Lewis hit .259 with 11 home runs. He’s the fourth Mariner to win the award.
Milwaukee Brewers reliever Devin Williams is taking home National League Rookie of the Year honors. The 26-year-old right-hander beat out San Diego Padres second baseman Jake Cronenworth and Philadelphia Phillies infielder Alec Bohm, who tied for second. Williams allowed just one earned run in 27 innings.
New Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa is under scrutiny after another DUI. ESPN reports the 76-year-old Hall of Famer was arrested in February for allegedly driving under the influence in the Phoenix area. La Russa pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI in Florida in 2007.
