I-24 pursuit ends with arrest of Princeton man

A pursuit on I-24 that began in McCracken County Monday afternoon ended with the arrest of a Princeton man.

Kentucky State Police attempted to make a traffic stop on a pickup operated by 18-year old Steven Moor of Princeton for reckless driving near the 21 mile-marker westbound, but Moor allegedly kept driving and tossed a handgun out of the window as he turned onto US 62 after exiting the interstate.

Moor struck a vehicle driven by 53-year old Jeffery Stone of Paducah as he swerved in and out of traffic on Benton Road in the Reidland community.

State Trooper Landon Stewart had to leave the roadway to avoid striking another vehicle and his cruiser became disabled.

Stone was transported by EMS to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injures. Trooper Stewart was also transported by EMS to Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah for minor injuries.

Moor fled on foot, but was soon caught and arrested for first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana and other charges.

His passenger, 21-year old Cameron Malone of Princeton, fled on foot and was able to get away.

Anyone knowing his whereabouts should call KSP at 1-800-222-5555.
