U of L loses two basketball players to injuries

Injuries will force the University of Louisville to be without two players for a period of time. Senior Malik Williams will miss 12 weeks of basketball activity due to the recurrence of a foot injury. The Courier Journal reports Williams will undergo surgery on the fifth metatarsal of his right foot for the second time in less than 14 months after developing a new fracture.

The Cardinals will also be without graduate transfer guard Charles Minlend for six weeks after suffering a knee injury in practice last Thursday. Mineland suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee. Mineland transferred to Louisville from the University of San Francisco.
