The Calloway County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a collision that sent a Murray man to a local hospital and where impaired driving is reportedly a factor.
According to a news release, deputies responded to the 1000 block of Pottertown Road for reports of a single-vehicle collision around 11:30 p.m. Investigation determined that a vehicle operated by 50-year old James Hornbuckle of Murray had been headed westbound on Pottertown when he went off the roadway. The vehicle struck a brick column and then struck a tree.
Hornbuckle was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of injuries he received during the collision. Hornbuckle was later charged with first-offense DUI following further investigation of the crash.
Hornbuckle was cited and released due to needing continued medical treatment for his injuries.
