Hopkinsville YMCA has “Thankful Tree” to help children attend programs

The Hopkinsville Christian County YMCA has a “Thankful Tree” in its lobby where citizens can donate to help a child learn how to swim or participate in several other YMCA programs.

Joe Wilson says you can pick a paper off the tree and then sponsor a child for programming their family may not be able to otherwise afford.

He says you only need to enter the front lobby of the YMCA to help with the Thankful Tree.

The YMCA continues to offer free dinner for kids 18 and younger from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. and a free snack from 2:30 until 3:30. They are also waiving joining fees this month to families who donate four food items on a list of needs to their food pantry.
