Due to Christian County remaining a ‘red’ county on the incidence rate map, and in following recommendations from public health officials, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation will be ceasing the majority of its indoor activities.
According to a news release, open gym sessions, classes, events, rentals and gatherings at the Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex and Thomas Street Recreation Center will cease for at least one week. Any closures will be evaluated on a weekly basis.
The Sportsplex will still allow free walking from 8 a.m. to noon each weekday, as well as socially-distanced batting cages for baseball, softball and golf—that will be limited in availability. Outdoors facilities such as parks, the Hopkinsville Dog Park, Skate Park and Disc golf courses, will remain open for use.
