Sen. McConnell says Americans shouldn’t be surprised if presidential election heads to court

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky says Americans shouldn’t be surprised that President Trump may challenge some aspects of Tuesday’s election in court in certain states.

He says President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are likely to be prepared to go to court and should if they feel it necessary.

Senator McConnell believes the Electoral College serves the country well in situations such as this.

The Republican who handily defeated Amy McGrath Tuesday  says he’s also anxiously waiting to see if the GOP will maintain control of the Senate.

McConnell says another economic stimulus package should be passed before the end of the year.  Negotiations on a new stimulus have been deadlocked for months.

He favors the more narrow approach and says the coronavirus must be crushed before the nation can start getting back to normal.  The economy is still struggling to fully recover from the outbreak as the virus surges again across much of the country.
