The Forgotten Angels Project will operate differently this year, as many things have done, but is continuing to help provide residents in local personal care homes with a good Christmas.
Forgotten Angels focuses on the residents that are typically younger and sometimes suffer mental illnesses rather than physical limitations—they are often the most forgotten by society. Usually, the program asks for donators to create gift bags for specific individuals, however due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year the bags will be created around certain items.
There are three ways to participate, including building a bag themed towards a male or female, with insulated cups or tumblers, stationary and office supplies, instant coffee and scarves, gloves or hats. Donations can also be made for the stocking stuffer list, which includes many of those items along with various snacks, drinks and personal hygiene products.
Monetary donations can also be made to the program through the Pennyrile Area Development District—the deadline to donate is December 14. For more information on what and how to donate, contact Cindy Tabor at 270-886-9484.
