Two incumbent Hopkinsville City Council members ended election night trailing their challenger and there will be several new faces on council come January.
Republican Natasha Francis has a 144 vote lead over incumbent Ward 1 Hopkinsville City Councilman Darvin Adams in the unofficial results and it’s unlikely, but not impossible, that enough absentee ballots that were mailed on or before Election Day could change the outcome.
Republican Steve Keel leads Democratic incumbent Jimmy Dossett by 225 votes in Ward 10—a margin unlikely to be overcome, even though the results are unofficial.
Kim McCarley won another term in Ward 2, Ward 3 will be represented by Alethea West, Ward 4 went to Chuck Crabtree, Amy Craig was re-elected in Ward 5, Travis Martin will get a full term in Ward 6, Terry Parker won another two years in Ward 7, Ward 8 will again be represented by Tom Johnson, Jason Bell was re-elected in Ward 11 and Philip Brooks won another term in Ward 12.
