A woman and child were injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday night on South Virginia Street.
The collision report from Hopkinsville police says 20-year old Akim Abdul Barry of Hopkinsville was stopped at the stop sign on Morningside and said he didn’t see a southbound vehicle on Virginia driven by 26-year old Japinica Hubbard of Hopkinsville until he had already driven into her path.
Their vehicles collided and Hubbard and her child passenger were both taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Barry said there was a cloth bag in his passenger seat that hindered his vision.
