Second suspect in North Kentucky Ave. murder case arraigned

The man charged in connection with the October 12 fatal shooting of Calvin “Cue” Taylor at his home on North Kentucky Avenue was extradited from Texas to the Christian County Jail over the weekend and he was arraigned Monday in District Court.

Judge Lindsey Adams entered a not guilty plea to complicity to murder and complicity to robbery on behalf of 24-year old Anthony Manning and left his bond at $500,000.

A preliminary hearing was set for Monday at 1 p.m.

Manning allegedly drove his mother, 47-year old Larayna Manning, to the home on the morning of the shooting. Detective Eugene Trumble testified during a hearing Friday that Anthony said he didn’t enter the home until he heard gunshots and that he told his mother to not call police.

Detective Trumble says HPD is still looking for a 2003 to 2005 silver Saturn Ion that was possibly involved in the crime. He says investigators can’t say with 100 percent certainty who fired the shots that killed Taylor and additional arrests are possible.

Taylor had duct tape on his mouth and wrists and police believe the killing came about during a robbery involving drugs.
