Secretary of State Michael Adams is urging people to take advantage of the last weekend of early voting and vote before Election Day on Tuesday.
According to a news release, Adams says people have more chances to vote this year than ever before and to vote before Tuesday, to help cut down on lines at polling places and therefore reduce crowds and limit the spread of COVID-19. Early voting locations in Christian County—which are at the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and the Senior Citizens Senior, both on West Seventh Street—have seen strong turnout so far.
Early voting continues on Saturday and Monday. Secretary Adams says, “Rather than one election day, we’ve given voters 19 election days. This increases voter convenience and enhances public safely by facilitating social distancing. However, it will not work unless voters take advantage of it. Otherwise, we’ll have long lines on November 3, with all the problems that may entail.”
