The remnants of Hurricane Zeta will bring heavy rain to western Kentucky through Thursday morning and a flood watch has been issued for areas to the north and west of Hopkinsville and Cadiz.
The watch is from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday and includes Hopkins, Caldwell, Lyon and the rest of western Kentucky to the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.
Locations in the watch area could receive three to four inches of total rainfall, while Hopkinsville, Clarksville, Cadiz and Elkton are expected to see reduced totals of two to three inches.
Areas that see the highest amounts could experience flooding in the typical low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Anyone encountering standing water on a roadway is reminded to turn around, don’t drown.
