The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions for the first time in 32 years. Mookie Betts scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and later homered as the Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in Game Six of the Fall Classic in Arlington, Texas. Seven LA pitchers combined to allow just five hits and one run.
Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager is the Most Valuable Player of the 2020 World Series. He was named MVP after hitting .400 with two homers and five RBI in LA’s six-game win over the Rays. Seager was also MVP of the Dodgers’ National League Championship Series win over the Atlanta Braves.
Meanwhile, Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner did not see the end of the team’s World Series clinching win on Tuesday. The team announced that Turner had tested positive for COVID-19, leading to his removal from the game. No other details were provided.
