Suspect in fatal hit-and-run case arraigned

The man charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed Jared Yoder in August was arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.

Alan Barnett of Crofton appeared in front of Circuit Judge Andrew Self, who accepted a not-guilty plea on his behalf and set a pretrial hearing for December 2nd.

Barnett is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a death or serious injury after he allegedly had been headed north in the 13000 block of Madisonville Road about 5:40 a.m. on August 19 and struck a bicycle ridden by the 20-year old Yoder.

Yoder was pronounced dead at the scene and Barnett reportedly kept driving. He was arrested two days later at his home.
