Over 12,000 Christian County residents have already voted in the general election and early voting continues through Monday.
Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries says over 8,600 people have voted early at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office or Senior Citizens Center.
She says many early voters have commented on the ease and convenience of the process.
It’s too late to request a mail-in absentee ballot, but Humphries says the clerk’s office has already received back over 80 percent of the 5,000 ballots they mailed to be tallied on election night.
Mail-in absentee ballots will be counted as long as they were postmarked on or before Election Day.
In-person early voting is open from 8 until 4 every day except Sunday through Monday at the sheriff’s office and senior center.
Unofficial election results will be posted on the Christian County Clerk’s Office website Tuesday night and we will have live election coverage on the WHOP Family of Stations beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
