Kentucky has another record week of COVID-19 cases

Kentucky had another record week for new cases of COVID-19 after Governor Andy Beshear announced 1,462 Sunday—another record for a day that usually presents smaller numbers.

There were 9,335 total cases for the week, breaking the record set only two weeks ago.

The governor also announced three more deaths, bringing the pandemic death toll to 1,407 in Kentucky.

There are currently 841 Kentuckians hospitalized with the coronavirus, 231 are in the ICU and 106 are on a ventilator.

Governor Beshear says he’ll be making new recommendations Monday for counties in the red or ‘critical’ category on the state’s incidence rate map.

Christian and Hopkins County are currently in the red.

Tennessee gained another 3,500 cases and 31 more deaths Sunday. Montgomery County had one of its largest increases yet at 102 new cases, Robertson added 25 and Stewart County reported 11.
