Kentucky received good news Wednesday. Transfers Olivier Sarr and Jacob Toppin have been granted waivers by the NCAA and are eligible to play for the Wildcats this season.
The seven-foot Sarr, who played at Wake Forest, is arguably the nation’s best transfer. He averaged 13.7 points last season, but opted to leave after Wake Forrest fired head coach Danny Manning.
Toppin is a 6-foot-8 forward and is transferring from Rhode Island. Kentucky lost eight of its top nine players from last season with six leaving for the NBA Draft.
