Kentucky Sports Radio reports a source as indicating Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt fired defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh during the 34-7 loss to Kentucky last Saturday. Pruitt confirmed the firing after the game was over.
The official announcement of the firing didn’t come until Sunday when Pruitt said that “from a philosophical standpoint, things are just not a fit, and it just didn’t work out for us”. As we reported earlier this week, Brumbaugh will be paid what he is owed in his two year deal, $837-thousand.
