The Christian County Health Department has reported a 29th COVID-19 related death.
The 86-year old Caucasian female also had other underlying health conditions, according to a news release.
Amanda Sweeney with the Christian County Health Department appeared on WHOP Thursday morning and noted Christian County has been “red” or “critical” on the state incidence rate map most days for over three weeks.
Sweeney says the surge in cases is coming from various places, but the spread could be slowed with mask-wearing, hand hygiene and social distancing.
The health department is averaging 50 to 70 people a day tested for COVID-19 at the free testing site at Tie Breaker Park, which remains open weekdays from 9 until 11 a.m.
