College Football

Even though this is an open week, the University of Florida announced today all football related activities have been suspended indefinitely. Coach Dan Mullen and an assistant coach have tested positive for Covid-19.

They are among 25 new positive cases reported in the last week. Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin says they have not been able to pinpoint how the outbreak began.

If Florida is unable to curtail this spread among the players, additional postponements could impact the Gators’ ability to play a “full” season as every remaining weekend is currently scheduled.

MLB

The Tampa Bay Rays take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game One of the best-of-seven World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas tonight. Tyler Glasnow gets the ball for Tampa Bay while Los Angeles turns to ace Clayton Kershaw.

NFL

ESPN reports the Miami Dolphins are naming first round draft pick out of Alabama Tua Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback. Tua replaces Ryan Fitzpatrick. Tagovailoa saw some playing time in Sunday’s win over the New York Jets.

NASCAR

Stewart-Haas Racing announced today Chase Briscoe will drive the No. 14 HighPoint Mustang in 2021. HighPoint, a leading customer service and technology solutions company, joined Briscoe in late 2019 as a primary partner of his No. 98 Ford Mustang in the Xfinity Series.
