A first-of-its kind “reverse Christmas parade” is coming to Hopkinsville to allow locals to spread Christmas cheer while remaining healthy during a pandemic.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman explains you’ll remain in your vehicle and drive past the parade entries north to south along Main Street beginning near First Street between 5:15 and 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 12.
Personnel from the Christian County Health Department and Christian County Emergency Management will be this year’s grand marshals.
The deadline for entering the parade is Wednesday, Nov. 18. Entry forms are available at HoptownRec.com.
Skatin’ on the Square, the annual Christmas tree lighting and other activities will also happen that weekend—with health protocols in place.
This year’s parade theme is “Home for the Holidays.” Hopkinsville Electric System and Energy Net Services returns as the sponsor of the parade.
