Electric utilities across Kentucky are resuming disconnections of service for the first time since March this month, but Pennyrile Electric is making its members aware of available options to pay off their balance before resuming disconnections November 2.
Those disconnections were ceased by measures put into place early in the pandemic in March.
Brent Gilkey with Pennyrile says members with a past due balance should call their cooperative office and choose a payment option to avoid having service turned off November 2.
He says their goal is to work with everyone to find a solution.
There are ways for other members to help those behind on their bill, including signing up for Pennyrile’s “Plus One” program, which adds a dollar to their monthly bill to support local agencies who help people with utilities.
Pennyrile Electric also has its lobbies open to the public.
