Ky. gains 1,319 COVID-19 cases, four new deaths

It was another day of high COVID-19 cases in Kentucky, with Governor Andy Beshear announcing 1,319 new cases and four new deaths.

There are now approximately 85,506 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Commonwealth, with the positivity rate decreasing slightly to 4.7 percent.  Governor Beshear says people need to buckle down and wear masks and follow that rule of no gatherings above 10 people.

He says he, the First Lady, and their children continue to test negative for COVID-19, but will continue their quarantine to abide by public health guidelines. He also announced an outbreak at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex, saying they will be testing every staff member and inmate and will act accordingly.

The four deaths brings the total in Kentucky to 1,300.  The Tennessee Department of Health is reporting 666 new COVID-19 cases there, and seven new deaths.
