Unemployment dropped in Kentucky last month

Unemployment dropped from August to September in Kentucky.

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary September unemployment rate was 5.6 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics. That was down 1.9 percentage points from August and up 1.3 percentage points from the 4.3 percent recorded for the state one year ago.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for September was 7.9 percent, down from 8.4 percent in August, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
