Torchlight Tales returns to Jeffers’ Bend

A local tradition returns to Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center next week with the telling of the story of the Bell Witch with William Turner.

Torchlight Tales will take place Saturday, October 24 starting at 6 p.m.—the event will take place at the southwest end of Jeffers Bend Environmental Center across the street from the Welcome Center. Turner will tell the story of the Bell Witch, a local legend of the strange events that happened in the early 19th century in Adams, Tennessee.

Turner will be joined by local story teller Wayne Goolsby—they will stand by the fireside and tell upwards of 300 attendees the story, allowing them to determine what is fact and what is fiction.  Hot chocolate, homemade cookies and s’mores will be served upon attendees arrival, and when they finish off their night around the campfire.

The cost will be $5.00 per car with free entry for active military members and first responders. For more information, contact the Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development Area Council, Inc. at 270-885-5600.
