Todd Fiscal Court heard updates Friday morning on the election and gave authority to Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield to approve applications for small business pandemic assistance.
Todd Fiscal Court designated $25,000 in CARES Act funding in July toward $1,000 grants for small businesses adversely impacted by the pandemic. Judge Mansfield noted Friday morning it was never specified who would have the authority to approve applications and he’s willing to make those decisions.
Fiscal court unanimously gave the judge the authority and applications can be picked up at the Todd County Courthouse.
Todd County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan noted early voting begins across Kentucky—including at the clerk’s office in Elkton—on Tuesday of next week.
State inmate population counts remain low at county jails across Kentucky and Todd County Jailer Jeff Penick says there’s plenty of room in state prisons after new beds were created and some non-violent offenders were released due to the pandemic.
In other action, magistrates approved a $1,000 grant to the Todd County Bicentennial Committee.
