The Calloway County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a single-vehicle wreck in Dexter that killed a Dexter man.
According to a news release, deputies responded to Roosevelt Road near the intersection of East Walnut Street in Dexter for a report of a single vehicle collision and found a vehicle off the roadway. Investigation determined that 56-year old Ernie Lowe of Dexter westbound on Roosevelt Road when his vehicle partially exited the right side of the roadway. He then overcorrected, sending his vehicle down an embankment where he was ejected.
Deputies says distraction and intoxication may have been factors in the crash. Lowe was transported by Murray-Calloway County Ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment and he would die of those injuries.
