The Boys and Girls Club went virtual Thursday for their annual Great Futures Luncheon presentation and showcased the impact they’re having on children in the community.
The club was closed when school was closed earlier in the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that didn’t stop them from taking care of children in need. Along with partnering with the Christian County Public School System for their summer feeding program, the club provided around 51,000 meals and snacks to club members who might not have had enough to eat otherwise. Board of Directors Vice Chair Holly Bivins says they always appreciate of everyone’s support, and it’s needed now more than ever.
Several club members expressed why they enjoy the Boys and Girls Club, and the help it provides them.
Bivins says along with donating, the club is always looking for volunteers to help tutor, or members to serve on the board, and numerous other ways to help out.
The cafeteria is now complete—the 2,100 square foot facility will provide much-needed space for the program and allow for expansion of other offerings. To donate to the club, or to volunteer, call (270) 887-4020. The Great Futures presentation was posted to the club’s YouTube page.
