It was a beautiful day with near perfect fall weather for the start of the 400 Mile Yard Sale Thursday, and bargain shoppers are already out in full force.
The 400 Mile Yard Sale typically takes place in the summer, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic was delayed until October—it continues throughout the weekend. Teddy Hutchison has a yard sale set up near Daysville in Todd County and says he’s looking forward to enjoying the weather and making a little money.
He says he can tell there are less people out so far this year, but in typical years he has seen thousands of people.
For a list of sales in Trigg, Christian, Todd, Logan and other counties along the route, go to 400mile.com. The sale officially goes through Sunday, but most sellers will close up shop sometime Saturday afternoon.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reminding motorists on US 68 to use abundant caution this weekend. Be alert for slow-moving traffic and for automobiles stopping at sales.
