Atmos Energy is donating $1 million towards keeping customers warm during the cold months, thanks to its Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities program.
According to a news release, the company will distribute funds across its eight-state service area in partnership with more than 100 energy assistance agencies and nonprofit organizations. Several local agencies got a piece of the money in the amount of $99,500, which will be split between them.
Those agencies include the Salvation Army, Pennyrile Allied Community Services and Aaron McNeil House.
Atmos Energy also encourages members in need of assistance to pay their bills due to hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to reach out to the Pennyrile Allied Community Service office.
