Sanctuary hosting “Break the Cycle” cycling challenge to raise funds and awareness

The month of October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Sanctuary, Inc. is spreading information and hosting several events to help raise funds to support victims.

Throughout October, individuals will have the opportunity to participate in our first-ever Break the Cycle: Cycling to End Domestic Violence Challenge. According to a news release, participants can set personal goals on miles they would like to complete by the end of October. The registration fee is $20, and individuals who ride a minimum of 100 miles throughout the month will be entered into a raffle to win a gift card from one of the event sponsors, Bikes & Moore.  The first 150 people to sign up will receive a free water bottle and helmet sticker.

There will be an in-person kickoff event on October 17—it will be begin at 9 a.m. at the Pardue Lane Greenway System trailhead and attendees will ride bikes a few miles together on the rail trail. Attendance at the kickoff event is not required for participation in the event. You can register at the event in person or online by visiting Sanctuary, Inc.’s event tab on Facebook.
